The Original Prusa XL has been designed with easy upgradeability in mind. Install one of the upgrade packages toincrease the number of available toolheadsand expand your 3D printing options.

With a toolchanger in place and multiple toolheads, you canpreload various filaments and combine themin a single print. With smart object designs, you canminimize the number of supportsand even print with no waste whatsoever – no wipe tower, no filament scraps around the printer. Say goodbye to plastic waste that is heavier than the main printed object!

The combination of multiple filaments allows you tosave precious material– for example, you can print the main object fromPCCF filament and the supports from PLAwhich brings considerable cost savings!

Tools Required for Assembly

To upgrade the XL with additional print heads, you will need a set of tools. See the list below. If you already have these tools at home (all of them are part of the Original Prusa XL package), you dont have to buy them again.

• Mini wrench– used for dock calibration. It can be replaced with a small flathead screwdriver
• Uni-wrench– used for dock calibration
• PH2 screwdriver– required for terminal screws, a standard PH2 screwdriver
• Needle-nose pliers
• T10 key– at least 71 mm long
• 2.5mm Allen key– at least 86 mm long, as thin as possible due to space limitations
• 3.0mm Allen key– at least 128 mm long
